Enabling AI Search Assist is a straightforward process. It is set per integration, and you can quickly enable or disable it anytime. Navigate to the Integrations page and edit your desired integration. Click the three button Menu and select "Edit."

Within the AI settings panel on the right-hand side, you will find an "Enable AI" button. Clicking on this button will enable AI for your integration. Depending on the specific integration, you may need to reauthenticate, which is a simple and quick process. Once the reauthentication is complete, your calendar's data will be resynced.

After the initial setup, the OpenAI sync becomes active, and all your event data will be sent to OpenAI. This includes event names, descriptions, and any publicly available metadata, such as tags or groups associated with the events. With the data synced, it's time to explore the exciting capabilities of AI Search Assist.

To display the AI Search Assist for your people, click on the Design tab and locate the AI Search section.

Expand this section to see the "Enable AI search" feature. Toggle on this button. Once enabled, AI search becomes available for use.

On the Search for events... line, your people can type in any query, and AI search will find the best matching results based on their prompts. For example, AI Search Assist will handle if you're wondering about Thanksgiving events but need clarification on the exact dates. It will suggest relevant Thanksgiving events and give you the information you need.

You can give your people examples of prompts to help them. These are the Suggested prompts in the image above.

AI Search Assist has various customizable options to tailor the experience to your preferences. Let's explore some of these options:

By default, AI Search Assist shows events initially, giving you a quick calendar overview. In other words, your people will see your calendar as usual. However, you can turn off this feature if you prefer a minimalistic approach. If you toggle off Show events initially, the initial (first) page will only display a blank search input and the AI search logo. This mimics the Google search UI, eliminating distractions and allowing users to focus solely on their search queries.

The placeholder text is the default text that appears in the search input field. With AI Search Assist, you can customize this text according to your preferences. Whether you want to provide specific instructions or add a personal touch, the choice is yours.

It may help your people to see examples of good search prompts. You can give them examples with this design feature. By default, these suggestions appear below the search input, providing helpful prompts for users. Remove or add any number of suggestions to personalize and optimize the search experience for your users.
