To modify this design item...
Option #1: Default
No matter what you chose for your Date color, the default for Date hover color is always a medium grey. So, make sure to choose a DIFFERENT COLOR for your Date color.
Example A
Date color = Default + Date hover color = Default
So...as in the image below, hovering over the 13th gives medium grey.
Example B
Date color = Inherit from website = black + Date hover color = Default
So... in the image below, hovering over the 13th gives medium grey. (In this case, there is no conflict because the colors are not the same.)
Example C
Date color = Custom = blue + Date hover color = Default
So...in the image below, hovering over the 13th gives medium grey. (In this case, there is no conflict because the colors are not the same.)
Option #2: Custom color picker
As long as your Custom color for this item IS DIFFERENT THAN the color you chose for Date color, you will be fine.
Click on Custom and then click on the circle to choose your color. Note that now the hover color of the 27th is orange.
Click Save at the bottom of the column to save your changes.
