Since it is very important to get information about who (and how many) will be attending an event, Displaychurch.events (DCE) offers two options RSVP or REGISTER.

RSVP: Every event could have an RSVP, even if it was not configured in CCB. RSVP works more as information/statistics as these events are "Open to all". The responder sees a Yes/No/Maybe response menu. No CCB admin action required.

REGISTER: Sends a request to CCB. Up to a CCB admin to decide on access/participation.

Let's dive into how each one works and how to set them up.

To find this design section...

Step 1: After you log in, click on Calendars (brown box below).

The Your Calendars page will open.

Step 2: Choose the calendar you wish to modify (brown box below).

Step 3: Click on Design (brown box below).

Step 4: Click on RSVP (brown box below).

To modify the items(s) in this section...

SITUATION #1: SHOW RSVP FORM BUTTON IS TOGGLED OFF

When the Show RSVP form button is toggled off (greyed out, as in the image below), two things happen:

#1. No other options appear in this section.

#2. No RSVPs appear in your event details (see image below).

SITUATION #2: SHOW RSVP FORM BUTTON IS TOGGLED ON

When the Show RSVP Form button is toggled on (blue, as in the image below), two things will happen.

#1. Displaychurch.events will display it in your event details as RSVP EVENT with an envelope icon.

#2. More options will appear:

For now, you just have to deal with one of them: the Show RSVP For "Open to All" events button.

Decide if you are going to toggle on this button. As we mentioned at the beginning of this article, for "Open to All" events, the responder sees a Yes/No/Maybe response menu. No CCB admin action required.

Once you toggle this button on, Displaychurch.events will display it in your event details as RSVP EVENT with an envelope icon.

WORKING WITH THE LABELS

Just as there are two options (RSVP "Open to All" and REGISTER as we discussed at the start of this article), there are two groups of labels.

If you have toggled on Show RSVP Form (the Register option), you will be working with the labels with the gold boxes (see image above).

If you have toggled on Show RSVP For "Open to All" events (the RSVP option), you will be working with the labels with the brown boxes (see image above).

If you toggled on both buttons, then you need to set both the brown box and gold box labels.

There are two items without boxes. We will get to those later.

THE BROWN BOX LABELS: RSVP "Open to All" events

As noted in the image above, Displaychurch.events takes care of the Yes/No/Maybe, so you do not need to take any action for this item. No matter which option your viewer chooses, the the RSVP green screen will pop up.

Also, in the image above, the names of the labels have been added in black. As you can see, the labels = what we have typed in the brown boxes below.

RSVP CTA label: We have used a placeholder, so you can more easily understand where it appears. Your label should be more meaningful, of course. Examples could be: Showing up to our Coffee Night? or Hoping to see you at the Youth Concert!

RSVP Login from label: You can change this as you wish. It is helpful to mention something about the CCB account however. This is because your church member or first-time visitor be logged in to a CCB account in order to RSVP to any event. (For more information, see Issues with CCB at the end of this article.)

***User name: Your responder will type in their CCB user name.

***Password: Your responder will type in their CCB password.

RSVP Submit button label: This is the name of the button they will click on to RSVP. Something such as "RSVP to Prayer" would work well.

THE GOLD BOX LABELS: Registration events

As noted in the image above, Displaychurch.events takes care of the Register, so you do not need to take any action for this item. No matter which option your viewer chooses, the the Register green screen will pop up.

Also, in the image above, the names of the labels have been added in black. As you can see, the labels = what we have typed in the gold boxes below.

Registration CTA label: We have used a placeholder, so you can more easily understand where it appears. Your label should be more meaningful, of course. Examples could be: Ready to run with us? or Coming to our Nearly-wed seminar?

Registration Login from label: You can change this as you wish.

RSVP Register Submit button label = This is the name of the button they will click on to Register. Something such as "Register for VBS" would work well.

WORKING WITH THE LAST TWO ITEMS

The two design items above relate to what your users see after they RSVP or Register to an event.

After Registering to an event, the user will see design item #1.

After RSVPing to an event, the user will see design item #1 and then #2.

Mix and Match: RSVP + Forms

Case #1

You can have both a form AND an RSVP/Register in one event as shown in the screenshot above. In this case, clicking on I AM A FORM will bring the user to the CCB form they need to complete.

Here is an example:

To find out more about using forms, open this help desk article in a new tab: https://help.displaychurch.events/en/articles/4616186-design-events-forms.

Case #2

Sometimes, the forms are not separate but somehow attached to the Registration process. In that case, clicking Register on the CCB.event green pop up screen will include both the registration itself and the form to complete.

Here is an example:

RESPONDENT ISSUES WITH CCB

Logged in vs. Not Logged in

When accessing an RSVP that is open to all, if the responder is not logged in, they would get the following webpage when accessing the CCB event page:

If the responder is logged in, the event page in CCB would look as below (showing the same options we show in CCB.events):

For Registration events, the CCB event page would look like:

No CCB Account

If the responder does not have a CCB account, they can click on Go to CCB site as shown in the screenshot below.

This option is directly below the green pop up form. Clicking on this button will bypass the CCB.events form, so the responder can RSVP/Register directly in CCB.

Finally, Some events may have forms attached to an RSVP action in CCB (we can't determine what form does what actually). In such case, when clicking on on "REGISTER" in CCB Event page, you would get a form to fill in:

Click Save at the bottom of the column to save your changes.
