To make things even clearer for your church members, you can have your calendar views and event alerts display only those events with images, show only 1 occurrence of repeating events, and filter per the Google calendar you wish.

Part 1: Finding these filters

Step 1:

1a. After you log in, click on Widgets to open your product options (if necessary).

1b.Then click on the product category you wish to work with (gold box and arrow in image below).

For example, if we click on Calendars, the Your Calendars page will open.

Step 2: Choose the calendar or events list you wish to modify.

Step 3: If you are not already in the Setup tab, click on Setup (brown box below).

Step 4: Scroll down until you see Events Filtering.

Part 2: Setting these filters

Slightly different for Event Alerts:

Toggle on the Show events with images only button (brown box in image to the left) to just show those items which have some sort of picture or other image. Read more + examples here.

Toggle on the Merge recurring events button (yellow box in image to the left) to show only one occurrence of an event which repeats.

Add filter (blue box in image to the left): This is where you organize your main filtering. You use the connectors 'and' + 'or' to mix and match between your Google calendars, event locations and tags.

NOTE: The default is All Calendars, All Locations and All Tags. So, if you do not select any filters, Display.Church will pull in all events from the GCal data you have chosen to share with us..

This filtering logic is powerful (and a little complex). So we have given it its own article: https://help.display.church/en/articles/7890338-setup-events-filtering-logic

Click on the blue Update button at the bottom to save your selections.
